Filmscreening on 'Makerschap'
On Thursday, November 28th, we invite you to an evening where we will focus on ‘makerschap’ (craftmanship). Not entirely coincidentally, on the night before Black Friday. With films and a conversation, co-hosted by Roffa Mon Amour, we will shine a light on the dedication and many hands it takes to create and make the stuff we take for granted.
Every day, we come into contact with countless products, many of which are produced far away. Our knowledge of the raw materials and operations required has long since ceased to be common. We would rather replace a product than repair it (ourselves). How aware are we of what it takes to make something?
At SUSAN BIJL's office and shop on Oostzeedijk, Roffa Mon Amour will set up a film screen and stage to watch Les main d'Hermès about the artisans of fashion house Hermès and work by filmmaker Roel van Tour in collaboration with Christien Meindertsma.
