At 15 cm in diameter, this plate is the perfect size for snacks, small dishes, or as a saucer under mugs. The sturdy porcelain body makes it durable, while the rounded rim and smooth surface ensure easy cleaning.

Reminiscent of the roadside diner tableware of 1950s and 1960s America, the SEASON 01 collection from HASAMI features designs that are both functional and can handle all the stresses of everyday use. The variety of toy-block-like colours allows for plenty of mixing and matching, making this series both practical and fun.

About Hasami

The HASAMI brand crafts Hasami ceramics from the town of the same name in Nagasaki Prefecture. Until recently, Hasami ceramics was relatively unknown, long grouped under the umbrella of the more well-known Imari porcelain of the Arita area of Saga Prefecture.

Hasami ceramics production is characterised by a specialised division of labour where shaping, moulding, glazing, and firing are handled independently. Such involved production systems can lead to communication problems and require large amounts of money and time when developing new products. However, for Hasami ceramics, it has allowed each artisan to hone highly advanced techniques and work more efficiently. The HASAMI brand takes pride in local traditions and breaks down barriers inherent to this model of specialised labour to create practical ceramic tools. HASAMI wants to design products that are a joy to use, day after day, and have an allure beyond words.
