Matsue Pop-Up Store Now Open!
Following Osaka thsi November, we're hosting a pop-up store at style department_ Matsue in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. This marks our second pop-up in Matsue City after a year. The pop-up will feature the world's first unveiling of the new “ZER0” collection, alongside our “Rainwear” collection with an updated The New Raincoat and the newly added The New Rain Jacket & Rain Pants.
We are truly delighted to reconnect with the wonderful local community of Matsue.
A launch party will be held on Saturday, November 15th! Join us in celebrating the unveiling of the new collection alongside our team visiting from the Netherlands!

It was exactly one year ago, in November 2024, that we first landed in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. We held a pop-up store for our then-new collection REVERB, symbolized by The New Strap & Keychain Kumihimo, at style department_ matsue. The warm welcome we received from the local community through the launch party and coloring event remains a cherished memory!
ZER0
After 25 years of combining colours, we return to zero. A collection in shades of white, featuring every design we've made. ZER0: a minimal colour palette and a referral to the 00s, the year 2000 when Susan made her very first bag. In the ZER0 collection, we conclude 25 years of colour, and celebrate the blank canvas filled with possibility.
Rainwear
SUSAN BIJL Rainwear is an apparel line designed to protect you from the rain.
We've refined the design of “The New Raincoat” and added two new designs: an anorak jacket and rain pants. Combining these two pieces completes the set. This collection is available in four colors total. The jacket “The New Rain Jacket” and pants “The New Rain Pants” are sold separately, allowing you to match or mix their colors. All items are available in sizes S, M, and L.
The Rainwear fabric consists of 100% recycled 20D nylon, TPU lamination, and tricot. This combination provides waterproof and breathable fabric while achieving a soft,
comfortable feel against the skin. All SUSAN BIJL waterproof products are fluorine-free.
Shades of white
For ZER0 we chose a shade that reminds us of an empty sketch book page, representing a new beginning. It’s softer than pure white and more forgiving. The bags’ off-white tone, with greenish undertones, interacts beautifully with its surroundings. White, after all, contains all colours: a union of everything we have explored in 25 years of colour.
Collection triptych
This anniversary year comes to a close with the final collection in a series of three. We began this year with a collection celebrating the Flash: the upward stripe that adds a contrasting colour to our designs. Our signature lies in two-coloured bags; it's what you recognise us by on the streets.
For our autumn collection, Form 25, we explored new ways of working with colour, where The Flash no longer defined the division. The monochrome bag took centre stage, highlighting its contours, with the Flash visible only in its construction.
ZER0 takes the next step, removing (almost) all colour and contrast to reveal the frameworks beneath as perfectly captured in the campaign photos by Scheltens & Abbenes. All our core bag designs and rainwear are presented in this collection, closing this year with a symbolic fresh start: a clean slate, a blank canvas filled with possibility.
