Tableware

Chris Kabel designed this vase with the ambition to make it disappear. The vase works the same way a chicken waterer works. The water container is placed upside down on a plate, maintaining a steady water level in the base. The flowers are positioned in a framework so that they seem to be growing directly from the vessel. The vase has a beautiful, seethrough-like effect.

The Hidden Vase consists of a stoneware or glass tray, a bottle in coloured glass, and is united by a custom-made stainless steel frame.

About the designer
Chris Kabel combines an interest in hardcore science with an intuitive, artistic approach to designing everyday objects. He is not interested in a signature style but remains close to the inspiration he draws from the materials and the techniques. As a result, only the attentive viewer immediately recognises the ‘typical Kabel products’, a characteristic that does not hide in the looks but the underlying attitude towards design.
