Chair 66 is a universal wooden chair in the tradition of classic kitchen and café chairs. The wide backrest offers comfort and flexibility, and the Finnish birch used to make the chair is durable and lightweight. With its handle-like seat back, Chair 66 can easily be moved wherever needed.

The chair is available in a wide variety of colours and finishes. The colour combinations available in our webshop have been curated by Susan herself.

About the Designer

Recognised today as one of the great masters of modern architecture and one of the co-founders of Artek, Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) was born in Kuortane, Finland. Aalto designed buildings for almost all key public institutions, standardised housing and private homes. Aalto began designing furnishings as a natural extension of his architectural thinking. His first modern piece of furniture was created in 1931-32 for the tuberculosis sanatorium in Paimio, Finland. Artek was set up in 1935 to market and sell his and his wife Aino’s furniture, lighting, and textiles, particularly on international markets.
