The dutch jewellery designer Martine Viergever uncovers the hidden beauty of everyday things. Viergever lovingly digs up ordinary objects from kitchen drawers and dusty corners to elevate them to the status of a jewel. Pen caps, sink stoppers and spark gun cartridges are transformed and given an unprecedented beauty, handcrafted in silver and other precious materials. The shape remains unchanged; the object's function is simply shifted to a place of honour: hung around the neck or pinned on the chest.
